Sewer cleaning

One of the major tasks, facing particularly acute in energy and utilities, is cleaning up sewage canals and pipes of yards and city networks from different deposits. To solve these tasks processes and special equipment for cleaning of surfaces with water under high pressure have been developed and continue to improve.

The mechanical method of cleaning doesn't allow to clean completely the canals and is ineffective on the pipes with diameter of more than 50 mm. The most effective method of sewer cleaning is the hydrodynamic method, based on the use of high-pressure installations. The hydrodynamic cleaning method consists in destruction of deposits, with their simultaneous removal, with high pressure water jets, delivered to the working area from high pressure pump through special nozzles.

The advantages of high pressure cleaning:

  • there is no damage to internal walls
  • effective removal of blockages in a sewer or any other deposits, regardless of their physical properties, chemical composition
  • environmental friendliness of the process: use of clean water without any additives
  • reduction of direct and indirect production costs
  • it's possible to produce a focused cleaning / processing of specific areas (for example, the bottom of the reservoir, segment cross-section, full cross-section)

The cleaning efficiency depends on the type of nozzle which is screwed onto the high pressure hose, and determined by the number of jets, their size and angle of ejection of the water jet from the nozzle body. When selecting the nozzle one should consider:

  • small number of large diameter jets  increases towing performance of the nozzle
  • large number of small diameter jets increases the cleaning efficiency in the prejudice of traction
  • need to strive for unification of two properties: effectiveness of cleaning and towing performance of the nozzle
